Independence, in writing. Judges are compensated by fixed honorarium only, hold no positions in entrants, and score against published criteria: measurable impact, technical novelty, verified traction, and scalability. Entry fees buy a place in the competition - never a score. The full scoring rubric and conflict register are published before entries open.

The fee keeps the competition serious and funds the prize and the production - entry fees and partner boxes finance the $1M cheque, so the prize scales with the field. What every entrant gets, win or lose:

University-nominated founders enter free. Cohort Partner and Innovation Campus universities can nominate founders with the entry fee waived - one more reason your university should be in the network. Accelerator cohort companies also enter free.
